Prince George
Incorporated in 1915. Prince George has been growing and maturing into one of Canada's finest winter cities. Prince George's economy has historically been driven by the forest industry, but ever increasing tourism, education, mining, oil & gas exploration, manufacturing, transportation and agriculture continue to strengthen and diversify its economic foundation.
The Prince George Airport has recently added direct, international flights, and is upgrading it's runway and facilities to handle large cargo transport planes. There are plans underway to build an inland container port in Prince George, and work is being done to improve our area highways to allow for increased traffic and transportation of machinery needed for mining & oil & gas exploration. New housing developments are popping up all over Prince George, especially in the west.
Many people find Prince George a great place to raise a family. There are plenty of schools, community centres, parks, churches, sports & entertainment facilities, shopping centres, malls, outdoor recreation destinations and much more.
